April 10, 2025 - Event in Recognition of George Demeter Day and Parliamentary Law Month at Massachusetts State House
On April 1, 2024, pursuant to Chapter 208 of the Acts of 1989, Governor Maura T. Healey signed a proclamation recognizing the month of April as Parliamentary Law Month and the second Wednesday in April as George Demeter Day throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. George Demeter, the NAP Unit’s namesake, was a noted Parliamentarian and author of Demeter’s Manual of Parliamentary Law and Procedure. On April 10, 2025, members and guests of the NAP’s George Demeter Unit gathered at the Massachusetts State House to officially receive both proclamations signed by Governor Healey. After the proclamation ceremony, Peter A. Senopoulos, PRP, who is George Demeter’s grandnephew, gave an interesting presentation about the life of George Demeter.
